Cabin Fever Entertainment was an home video distributor. It merged with Hal Roach Studios and recieved a license to distribute the Our Gang / Little Rascals films, and is best known for these releases.

Most of Cabin Fever's tapes were hosted or endorsed by Leonard Maltin, a film historian and movie reviewer of Entertainment Tonight.

Cabin Fever's releases were known for being much better in picture and sound quality than other companies. This is because Cabin Fever recorded all of their tapes in SP mode, instead of the EP and SLP modes that most PD companies used at the time.

List of Releases[]

  • Series: The Little Rascals - Remastered and Unedited
  • For Pete's Sake* (For Pete's Sake, Dogs is Dogs, The Pooch, Dog Heaven)

Cabin Fever Today[]

In 1988, Cabin Fever merged with Hal Roach Studios to form Quintex Entertainment. This venture was an initial success, but ultimately failed, and the company was renamed to RHI Entertainment. RHI was sold to Hallmark Cards in 1994. In 2006, the company's original founders, Robert Halmi Jr. and Robert Halmi Sr., reaquired it and continued to release films from the Hal Roach library, which they still owned the rights to. RHI filed for bankruptcy in 2010, and Robert Halmi Sr. left the company shortly after. The brothers have said that they plan to form a new company and focus on television programming instead of classic films.
