Diamond Entertainment Corporation was an American home video distributor from Anaheim, California.

History[]

Founded in 1985 as Trans-Atlantic Video and in 1989 as TAV/ATI. At this time, they released only classic cartoons and black-and-white movies. Around 1989, Trans-Atlantic Video was changed to TAV/ATI. Around 1991, TAV/ATI (formerly Trans-Atlantic Video since 1985), was changed to Diamond Entertainment Corporation and began releasing more tapes aimed at children, and less for adults.

In 1996, Diamond Entertainment Corporation began releasing DVDs, though they still continued to release VHS tapes as well. Because of their large library (398 titles on DVD), they were successful in the DVD market as well. DEC also opened a subsidiary, Jewel Products International, which sold children's toys and other small items.

In 2007, Diamond Entertainment Corporation was purchased by RX For Africa, Inc. in a reverse-merger transaction. Diamond Entertainment Corporation stopped releasing films after the takeover, but legally remains open to this day.
